Important Information

Tap water in Dubai is desalinated and therefore theoretically OK to drink. However the norm amongst expats seems to be to purchase bottled water which, so it is ready for drinking, is kept in the fridge or freezer.

Our practice is to use tap water boiled as normal for tea and coffee, and ordinary tap water for brushing teeth. If your stomach is of an especially nervous disposition it may be best to stick to bottled water for everything.

Your first holiday in Dubai? Look at Where To Stay in Dubai and Hotels in Dubai or try Hotels Combined, our chosen hotels search website.

It's quite usual to see folk out and about with a bottle of pre-frozen or chilled water. This is a wise move as it's very easy to become dehydrated and that would ruin your Dubai holiday. The local expats do it and they're used to the heat, so you'd be sensible to follow suit!

You may find that Hotels will provide you with a small supply of bottled water each day, direct to your room. But check to see if it's free - in some hotels it is, in others it's not and you'll find it much cheaper to buy by Shopping for it outside the hotel in any grocery shop or supermarket, such as Spinneys or Carrefour, that are often found in the shopping malls.

Drink plenty of water...Enjoy your Dubai holiday...it's simple!
